I have been meal prepping for almost 5 years, meal prepping is basically prepping your meals ahead of time. It can be overwhelming and time consuming initially. However, I found it gets easier the more you do it and plan ahead. The last thing I feel like doing after work is cooking, I’m tired. Even if I did want to cook, often times a meeting or something comes up derailing my plans. My car would auto-pilot its way through the drive of a restaurant, or a store grabbing something unhealthy because it was quicker and I was starving by than. I started meal prepping as a way to eat healthier, lose weight, free up time, and feel better.
I will be sharing helpful tips for meal prepping in a three part series called, A Beginner’s Guide to Meal Prep. Generally, I prepare meals for 3-4 days at a time on Sundays and Thursdays. You can choose any day of the week that works best for you. So, ready, set, and lets go it’s time to learn about meal prepping supplies.
You will need some basic supplies, to cook, store, and prep your meals. You probably own some of these items already. I use the following supplies below as my go to supplies, these are only suggestions! Containers are great way to help with portion control, freezing, and grabbing meals on the go. Supplies are the spice of life, I mostly use Amazon, Walmart, and my local grocers. Amazon is an easier way to get a variety of products delivered to your door, as you can tell 98% of my products come from there.
Plan Ahead:
Supplies:
