I’ve been experimenting with chamomile teas more. One of my favorite go to brands for chamomile, Celestial Seasoning has never let me down. My wonderful mother introduced to Sleepytime tea years ago. I finally found this Sleepytime Extra with valerian at Kroger since moving to Texas. This reminds me of my mom, I can’t see my mother as often as I like, but this is something that connects us miles away. She drinks this tea almost nightly and it makes me feel connected to her.
Sleepytime Extra has valerian which is a herb that helps you relax and comes in a pill form too. The smell isn’t all that pleasant, but it helps promote sleep and they added it to my favorite chamomile.
I mixed it with the Honey Vanilla Chamomile and about 2 tablespoons of vanilla cashew milk and a tablespoon of sugar free pumkin spice creamer as sleepy-dessert type tea. The taste was pretty good and I used 4 bags just in case the potency was diluted from the milk and creamer.
The taste of the Sleepytime Extra and the Honey Vanilla Chamomile are both good, but the vanilla definitely is sweeter. My recommendation would be to drink it a hour before bedtime. It isn’t drying and is definitely worth the money.

HI Laina, what do you mean by “the tea isn’t drying”? I’ve been looking for something to help me with sleep but I haven’t found a chamomile tea that I really like yet. I have never thought of adding more tea bags, or combining them. Thank you for your review.

Some teas I drink with caffeine make my mouth feel dry, like I’m not producing enough saliva. So, I always have to drink water with them to keep that thirsty feeling away. You should try it.
