I was sitting at my specialist’s office and I noticed I’m literally the youngest person in this place . I began to feel sorry for myself because you expect your body to have problems later in life. Thank God my pity party didn’t last long.
In walked this lady who appeared to be in her late 60’s early 70’s. She began checking in at the counter and I overheard her telling the receptionist, sorry she was a little late, but she came from another doctor’s appointment and they are trying to figure out what is wrong with her. The receptionist said “sorry” and the lady said “I have so many things going on I just take it one day at a time. ” Wow, I was speechless because here I am thinking about the 6 times I have to go to some form of appointment between now and October. This woman had a lot going on and she didn’t let it get to her.
I shouldn’t have either and I owe it all to this stranger who had the right mindset. One day at a time or one second at time if need be. So, thank you for you words and smiling through your challenges, you don’t know how much I needed to hear those words.
Good advice, it’s all we can do.
